Grab your Cricut or other die-cutting machines, some heat transfer vinyl, and your EasyPress and you’ll be all set to make this sweet little craft project. This is a really quick and easy die-cutting craft – perfect for Cricut beginners who want to tackle layering iron-on vinyl.

Heat transfer vinyl in the colors of your choice: we’re using pink, green, and black

Step-by-step Instructions:

In Design Space, upload the two cut files we’re using for this project and add them to your canvas.
Pull in a shape to represent the size and shape of the mesh bag. This will help you size your design to fit.
You’re only going to need part of the tooth pillow cut file. Click on the face and delete or hide it.
Then, select all the black parts of the file: the two teeth and the rectangle. Choose Contour and click on the rectangle and one of the teeth.
From there, you can individually size the tooth. Duplicate it twice so you have three in total.
One will be placed in the fairy’s hands and the other two will be placed around the design. You might need to move some of these items to the front as you place them on the rectangle representing the bag. Rotate the teeth as needed for your design.
Select all 3 teeth and Attach.
Open a text box and type in the child’s name, using your chosen font. We used Juliette. Remember to weld the name so it cuts out together.
In another text box, type Tooth Fairy Bag on 3 separate lines. We used the font American Story.
To get it nicely centered, we first Ungrouped to Lines. Then, we used Align, Center Horizontally, and then Distribute Vertically.
Select the name, the other text, and the teeth and Attach.
Delete the rectangle that was there for visualization purposes representing the bag.
Click Make It. Because we’re using HTV for this design, remember to “Mirror” your design.
After your heat transfer vinyl has been cut out, weed your design. Remember to check carefully for all the centers of the letters and other details.
Before heating the elements of your design, it’s a good idea to place all the pieces on just to make sure of where they should go. Start with the largest layer (the text and teeth).
Remove the additional layers, leaving only the biggest layer on the bag. Heat that layer down with the EasyPress. We have it set to medium heat and are heating each layer for about 10 seconds. Remove the transfer sheet.
That’s it! You can now present this to a special little one!

Step-by-step Instructions:

Create stencil in design space using a 6″ circle and the MGL fonts “application” and “improvement”
Cut the stencil out of vinyl
Weed, add transfer tape and remove from the mat
Apply the stencil to wood round
Using scorch marker, completely fill-in stencil
Allow to dry and remove the stencil
Use a heat gun to apply heat to the stenciled area. Move heat gun around periodically until the dark “burnt” look is achieved

DIY Word Book

For this Cricut project, we’re making a really cute word book. It will work with any word you want to use!

This is a simple Cricut beginner paper craft that makes a great gift – perfect for stocking stuffers, Easter baskets, party favors, and school gifts. Or just keep some on hand for when kids are looking for something to do.

Fastener for the pages of your book – string, ribbon, or brads (that’s what we used)
Printer (if using a Print then Cut method as we did. You could use adhesive vinyl instead)
Copy paper for the inside of the book
65 lb. weight cardstock for the cover of the book

Step-by-step Instructions:

We used the font Vincent and typed in the word we wanted for our book.
Ungroup to letters. Arrange words as desired. We placed ours on two lines.
Use Align to get your letters lined up and arranged as you want.
Select all of the letters and Attach them. Change the color of your word as desired.
Select the whole word and choose Offset. We set our Offset to 0.3 and we kept it rounded. Click Apply. This will create an outline for your word.
Change the color of the offset as desired.
In our words, there was a little hole in the O. We can fix that by selecting the design and choosing Contour. Click on that hole in the center of the O to contour it away.
Grab a square from the Shapes menu and unlock it. Make it into a rectangle that is sized to fit the left-hand edge of the offset to form the edge/binding of the book.
Choose both the rectangle and the offset and select Weld.
Send the welded offset/rectangle section to the back so that the text is on top of it.
Size your book as desired. If you make it about 4 inches wide, you can fit 4 of them on an 8.5 by 11 sheet of paper.
Grab a circle from the Shapes menu. Size it to fit on the binding. This will be one of the holes for the brads or other fasteners. Duplicate that circle to form the second hole. Place and center them as desired.
Select one of the circles and the book and Slice. Repeat with the other circle. Once sliced, delete the circles that remain from the slicing process.
Duplicate just the Offset portion of the design so you can use it to create pages for the book. You can duplicate it as many times as you’d like to create the pages you need.
Select one offset layer and the text layer and choose Flatten to turn that into the Print then Cut front cover of the book.
If you don’t want to make it a Print then Cut, you could just cut out the word with paper or vinyl instead.
Click Make It. Print and cut the cover and cut out the pages and back cover.
Once cut, you can stack your pages and covers together and bind them using the brads or other fasteners.

Yarn Rainbow Decor To Make With Your Cricut 300x296 1

Step-by-step Instructions:

Download the font from Makers Gonna Learn and then unzip the file and install it on your computer.
Grab a square on the Shapes button on the left and size it to 9.5 inches or whatever size works best for your project. Remember to measure the available space you have for creating your project and use that to create this square which will be used for visualization purposes.
Open a text box and type in the text you want. Change to your desired font. From here, you can size the text to fit your project accordingly.
Kern your text by selecting it and clicking Ungroup on the layers panel to the right so you can bring the letters closer together using Letter Spacing. When you are satisfied with it, select the text again and press Weld located at the bottom right under the Layers Panel.
Now, move the text over to the bottom part of the box below and arrange it to fit the way you want it. When you like how it looks, you can delete the box. Remember that you are going to need to leave enough space for the rainbow.
Click Make It and mirror your design since it’s going to be made using iron-on. Set the material to HTV.
Place your vinyl on the mat and then load the mat into the machine. Once the cutting is complete, weed your design.
You will want to have your frame already painted and stained and thoroughly dry before continuing. White heating the EasyPress, you can attach the backing to the frame using the staple gun.
Now place the HTV on the frame where you want it. Use your EasyPress to heat it and adhere it. Let cool for a few seconds and then peel away the transfer sheet.
Lay the white rope inside the frame to determine how long you need to cut the pieces to make the rainbow. It is recommended to cut the rope half an inch longer than you want just to give a little extra leeway to work with.
Wrap around some masking tape at one end to indicate where you want to begin wrapping the yarn. Use your first end as a guide to add masking tape to the other end as well.
For each of the other ropes, you can’t simply just make them the same length as the first one. Since it’s an arc shape, each of the inner ropes will get slightly smaller. So, lay the first one out in the arc shape, and then place more rope in an arc right underneath it. Cut to size. Repeat with each of the ropes. Be sure to wrap the ends in masking tape as you did with the first rope.
Important tip: We numbered each of the ropes on the masking tape so that we wouldn’t get confused later about which order they go in!
Take the wire and tightly wrap it around a piece of rope from one end to the other. After that, get the colored yarn and wrap it to cover the rope. Repeat with each of the ropes.
Attach the first and second yarn-covered rope using hot glue. Glue the 3rd and 4th ropes together using hot glue. Finally, glue the 3rd and 4th to the 1st and 2nd.
Remove the masking tape from the ends. Then, you can trim and fray them as desired.
Now, you can glue your rainbow into the frame above your text.

Step-by-step Instructions:

Grab the wooden beads you’ll be using and get the measurement of the surface. The size of the beads will be the same size you’ll be using and working within Design Space.
In the design space, grab a square and size it to match the measurements of the bead. This will help you visualize your project and size the text appropriately. We have rotated the square to match the diamond shape of the beads.
Open a text box and type in the letter you want for the baby’s initial. Change it to your desired font. Duplicate the square with the letter in it and then change the letter to the baby’s second initial. Select each letter and square, one at a time, and choose Align Center to help get the letters lined up perfectly if you’d like.
Select one square and one letter layer. Choose Slice. Delete the unneeded slice layers. We are doing this to create a stencil out of the vinyl. Do the same thing with your second letter.
Load some scrap vinyl onto your mat and load the mat into your machine to cut out your letters.
Go ahead and click “make it”. Once the cutting is done, you can unload the mat from the machine. Give it a little burnishing and then cut away the excess vinyl before you weed it. Place transfer tape over your weeded design and burnish.
Grab the beads and apply your letters. You might need to do a little burnishing again before peeling away the transfer tape.
Apply your acrylic paint to the cut-out letter area of your stencils. Let it dry for a few seconds and then peel off the vinyl stencil.
Once the paint has dried completely, you can give it a coat of polyurethane.
Now, grab the needle and some yarn and put the beads and rings together.. You can assemble it the way you want it to. When you are finished putting the pieces of the teething ring together, you can secure the end of the yarn using a lighter.

Step-by-step Instructions:

Download the font from Makers Gonna Learn. Then, unzip the file and install it on your computer.
In design space, grab a circle and size it up to whatever size you want. This is going to represent the working space available for our finished project. Ultimately, we are using a half-circle but we have to start with a circle. Ours is 8 inches for now, but we will size it up later.
Grab a square and size it enough to cover the bottom half of the circle. Then, with both the circle and the square selected, choose Slice. This will cut your circle in half. Delete the sliced pieces you don’t need.
Duplicate that half-circle and size it an inch smaller. Place that onto your original layer. Repeat this process until you make enough for 7 colors to make the rainbow. You can now change their colors to visualize the rainbow better.
You could just then cut out the pieces of the rainbow as is, but then the bottom part of the rainbow will be much thicker than the others because it will all be layered.
So, instead, select 2 layers (colors) of the rainbow and press Slice. Delete the results you don’t need. NOTE: You can only slice 2 layers at a time. Repeat the same process until all of them are sliced. Whatever you want to slice out, should be on top. So, you will need to select it and move it to the front. After slicing all of them, select all the layers of the rainbow and size it to 11.5 (or your chosen finished size).
Now, working with the cloud-cut files that you have uploaded into Design Space, you are going to see that they are just an outline. So, to get them to be the filled-in clouds we want, you will need to use Contour. Select a cloud. Make a duplicate. With the duplicate, choose Contour. Click on the center part of it. This will contour out the cut-out center. Your cloud should now be a solid piece.
Make a copy of each contoured cloud. For each cloud that you are going to make, you need 2 copies that are contoured and 1 that isn’t. We’ll be cutting the 2 contoured ones out of blue felt and the un-contoured ones out of white vinyl.
Grab a square and size it to 2”x24” or whatever size you want for the ribbon then duplicate them because you need 4 of them. You can arrange the ribbons below the rainbow however you like. This is strictly for visualization purposes. We won’t be cutting the ribbon with our Cricut.
Move the clouds over to the bottom of each ribbon and size them accordingly. If you place all 3 layers of one particular cloud on top of each other and then select all of them, you can size all 3 pieces for each cloud at one time. We like to then adjust the top layer (the un-contoured one) and make it just a tiny bit smaller than the other layers.
Grab a text box and type in the words you want. Change to the font you want to use. You can size the text and decrease the line spacing. You can also ungroup the text to manually move the letters together however you like and when you are satisfied, you can group the text back together again. With the text selected, choose Weld.
Move the text over to the rainbow, and size and arrange however you’d like. You can change the color for visualization if you’d like. When you are satisfied with your design, you can move the text to the side and delete the ribbons.
Click Make It. Be sure to mirror your Go click make it and make sure to mirror the text and the clouds because that will be cut with HTV. Click continue and connect to your machine. Then set the material to Everyday Iron-on.
Put the HTV on the mat shiny side down. Load it into the machine to cut the text. Once it has been cut, you can weed it.
Go back to Design Space to change the material to Felt/Wool Fabric. Insert your rotary blade into your Cricut Maker. Place the felt onto the mat and put the mat in the machine to cut. Once cutting is done, peel the felt off from the mat. Repeat until all of the colors of felt have been cut out.
Now we are ready to start putting it all together. Start by hot gluing the Kraft board to the largest piece of the rainbow.
Then, using your EasyPress Mini, place the HTV on each cloud and heat to adhere. Peel up the transfer tape. Now, hot glue the clouds and cloud backings on the ends of the ribbons. Then, hot glue the other ends of the ribbons to the bottom of the rainbow piece, attaching them to the Kraft board.
Next, you can go ahead and hot glue the rainbow pieces onto the rainbow backing (the piece with the Kraft board) one by one to put the rainbow together. You want to sandwich the Kraft board inside of the rainbow.
Now, place your text on the rainbow and arrange it however you like. Heat it with the EasyPress Mini and peel off the transfer tape.
Lastly, take a piece of felt and cut a rectangle to make a pocket on the back of the hair bow holder for the rod. Hot glue it at the top and bottom and apply it to the back of the rainbow.
Drill a couple of holes into your dowel near each end. . Insert the dowel into the rod pocket. Run a piece of cord into one of the holes at one end of the dowel. Tie it off. Run the other end of the cord into the hole at the other end of the dowel and tie it off to form your hanger.

Step-by-step Instructions:

1 – In Design Space, add a circle (from basic shapes) and duplicate for a total of 4 circles.

2 – Size one circle to 3.5 (change color to white).

3 – Size one circle to 3″ (change color to red -this circle is a representation of the accordion folded layer you will add. You do not need to cut this circle, it’s simply for design reference).

4 – Size one circle to 2″ (change color to blue). To create the scalloped edge for this circle, add a text box and insert 25-30 period punctuation marks. Select a font (like MGL’s Circles) that has a round period punctuation. Kern periods so that they touch and then curve the text to create a complete circle. Place the curved text on top of the blue circle and size so that it overlaps creating a nice scalloped edge. Weld the text box and blue circle together and size to approximately 2.2″.

5 – Size the remaining circle to 1.7″ (change color to white).

6 – Insert a text box and select MGL’s font “Variant”. Type in the number 8 (or whatever number your birthday boy/girl is celebrating). Size the number to fit on the 1.7″ white circle.

7 – Insert another text box and select MGL’s font “variant”. Type in the birthday boy/girl’s name and size to fit over the # on the 1.7″ white circle.

8 – Click make it. Load mats with appropriate material and choose the correct material setting. Once cut, weed vinyl and apply a transfer tape.

9 – Using your scoring board/paper trimmer, cut two 8″x1.5″ strips of red and white striped paper. Score each strip every 1/4″. Once scores are complete, accordion folds each strip of paper.

10 – Using ATG, connect the two strips to form a ring and then flatten the ring to form the fanned circle. Add hot glue to the center of the fanned circle to keep it all together.

11 – Layer Vinyl on the 1.7″ circle.

12 – Use ATG to add a 1.7″ circle to the top of the scalloped circle.

13 – Use got Glue to add the scalped circle to the fanned circle.

14 – Cut ribbons to size and arrange them on the top of the 3.5″ white KraftBoard circle. Glue ribbons to KraftBoard.

15 – Glue fanned circle on top of the ribbons/kraft board layer

16 – Use hot glue to add a bar pin to the back of the badge

Get your measurements & size it up accordingly
If you plan to use Print & Cut HTV, go ahead & make your offset
Print your design. if you’re doing sublimation-be sure to print in your sublimation printer.
When using Print & Cut HTV, go ahead & iron on your printed design. If you’re using sublimation, make sure to cover your design with butcher paper when pressing with heat.
Start on your tutu. Be sure to measure your child’s waist.
Once you have your child’s measurements, start cutting your tulle into desired measurement amounts. I used 20″ strips.
Once tulle is cut into desired amounts & lengths, start looping them through your crochet headband.
Assemble your tutu till the desired amount of tulle is added.

Birth Stat Frame

There is quite a bit of Design Space work to this craft project so if you’re a Cricut beginner, you might want to get a little more experience under your belt before attempting this frame.

Step-by-step Instructions:

Insert a square-sized 10×10 inches. And duplicate 4 times (for a total of 5).
Insert a 5″ circle, 6″ circle, 7″ circle, and 8.5″ circle.
Select one circle and one square and center alight them. With both layers selected, slice the circle from the square. Delete the slice results.
Repeat step 3 for the remaining circles and squares-leaving one square without a sliced circle for the backing of your piece.
Arrange pieces on top of each other as follow from front to back (square with 8.5″ hole, square with 7″ hole, square with 6″ hole, square with 5″ hole, solid square).
Add a text box with the font “circles” selected. Insert several many-period punctuation marks. Curve the text so that it creates a circle and size to fit inside the 5″ cut-out (layer 4 from the front).. Make sure the periods touch the circle cut out all the way around. Weld the text box with layer 2
Insert two circles- one slightly smaller than the other. Center align the circles and slice the smaller one from the larger one. Delete the slice results and size the new shape to fit so that it intersects the middle of the periods from the layer made in step 6
Add a text box with the font “I’m Booked”. Type in text and curve and size to fit inside layer 4. Weld the layers from steps 6-8 to the 4th layer.
Add a text box and the font I’m Booked. Insert text and curve & size text to fit inside layer 3. Weld the curved text to layer 3.
Repeat steps 6-8 with your 2nd layer.
Repeat step 9 with your 1st layer.
Insert a photo of the child. Size to 5″ in width or height.
insert a 5″ circle and place it over the pictured child.
Slice the 5″ circle from the picture. Delete slice results.
Place the picture in the center of the 5th layer.
Click make it and follow the prompts in the design space until all the mats are cut.
Use the ATG gun to assemble each layer.
