DIY Cricut Burlap Easter Canvas

March 20, 2020 by Paula W

Easter will be here before you know it. That means we’ve got a few more weeks to work our cottontails off to create some fun Cricut DIY Easter decor like this adorable DIY Cricut Burlap Easter Canvas. I love spring! It’s definitely my favorite time of the year. Being able to get out of my winter crafting mindset and focus on bright colors and blooming flowers makes me so happy!

We will show you just how easy it is to use heat transfer vinyl to apply a really cute design to burlap. Then we’ll add that burlap to a canvas and you’ll have the perfect Easter decor to display in your home. Check out the project tutorial below.

DIY Burlap Easter Canvas

DIY Cricut Burlap Easter Canvas

For this project, we’re using an adorable design from our Easter cut file collection here on Makers Gonna Learn. You’re going to love all of our fun designs!

  • Burlap Sheet
  • Scissors
  • Small Canvas
  • Cricut Maker
  • Weeding Tool Set
  • White Iron On
  • Cricut EasyPress
  • Pressing Cloth
  • Multi-Purpose Glue
  1. Take your piece of burlap and cut off the edges. Then take a Cricut tool to pull out some of the woven burlaps to give it a fringed look on the edges.
  2. Preheat your EasyPress and cut out the sized design with your Cricut using Iron-On. Once you’ve weeded, transfer it onto your burlap.
  3. Make sure there is a folded blanket or press cloth under your burlap because when you heat it with the EasyPress you don’t want to burn the surface under it. Now hold even pressure and heat the burlap until the iron on has adhered.
  4. Now take your multi-purpose glue and secure the burlap to your canvas. Be sure not to use any heavy glue that will seep through the burlap.
  5. Once it’s fully dry you can display it anywhere in your home to show your Easter spirit!

DIY Cricut Easter Throw Pillow

March 16, 2020 by Paula W

Spring is almost here. That means Easter isn’t far behind. I love spring for so many reasons and a big one is the fact that I can start making colorful creative spring crafts! I love getting out of my comfort zone to make something great which is what we did today.

You’re going to love learning how we made this DIY Cricut Easter Throw Pillow. You definitely don’t have to be a master sewist to create it. We actually used a fun Easter file for this DIY that we got from our super fun membership here on Makers Gonna Learn.

DIY Bunny Pillow

If you want to kick off spring by making a project that you can use for years to come, check out the full tutorial down below!

  • Striped fabric
  • Blue Fabric
  • Cricut Maker
  • Cricut FabricGrip Mat
  • Stuffing
  • Pom-Pom
  • Fabric Glue
  • Heat and Bond Sheets
  • Cricut EasyPress
  • Sewing Machine
  • Thread
  • Scissors
DIY Bunny Pillow

1. Cut your striped fabric into two pieces however big you’d like your pillow to be.
2. Now load your mat with a 12″x12″ piece of blue fabric that you’ve attached heat and bond to. Cut out the bunny shape big enough to fit on your pillow.
3. While your Cricut is cutting the bunny, sew your pillow together leaving a hole in the bottom to be able to stuff it later.
4. Heat up your EasyPress. Once the bunny is cut remove the backing and bond it to the center of the pillow. Let it cool.
5. Now take your fabric glue and attach the pom-pom to the bunny for his tail.
6. Stuff your pillow until the desired fluffiness then head back to the sewing machine to sew up the hole.
7. Now you have an adorable bunny pillow to display on your couch or bed.

What a fun DIY! I love how we used the large pink pom-pom as the bunnies’ tail! It really adds some depth to the project! I told you that you didn’t have to be a sewing pro to make this.

Anyone can make this with enough creativity and patience. I think this project turned out amazing. I love making seasonal holiday decor I know I can use time and time again.

DIY Easter Photo Holder

DIY Cricut Easter Photo Display

For this craft project, we’re using a file from the Makers Gonna Learn membership. We have thousands of cut files and over hundreds of fonts available for you to use in all of your die cutting crafts, with more added every month.

  • Wooden Block Photo Holder
  • Cricut Maker
  • Weeding Tool Set
  • Pink Vinyl
  • Gray Vinyl
  • Transfer Paper
  • White Chalky Finish Paint
  • Black chalky finish paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Sanding Block
  1. Take your black paint and apply a thin coat all over the wooden block and allow to dry.
  2. Now take your white paint and apply two coats to the wooden block. Then allow to dry completely.
  3. With your sanding block carefully sand away some areas of the white paint to reveal the black base coat to make it look distressed!
  4. With your Cricut cut out your designs and since this is a multi-layered project. Be sure to weed them separately and carefully.
  5. Once your designs are weeded and both have transfer paper slowly transfer them from the paper onto your wood block. You may need to use a Cricut tool to help you press and adhere the designs onto the wood.
  6. Be sure to apply your designs separately. Once you’re done simply add a photo and display in your home.
DIY Easter Photo Holder

Isn’t this the cutest Easter craft? I love the freedom you have to choose your own colors of vinyl, paint colors, and the photo you want to display. This would make a great gift for a friend or family member to give and display a photo of you together this spring.

Easter Gift Card Holder With Your Cricut

June 7, 2019 by Paula W

Aside from making decorative Easter eggs, there are so many other holiday projects you can make with your Cricut machine! In fact, it’s perfect for making craft projects for any holiday and any time of year. For Easter, why not try making an Easter Gift Card Holder? This is a fun and simple project that you will really enjoy making. It can be difficult sometimes to find special things to tuck into Easter baskets for teens and adults but this is a great way to make a gift for someone special. If you’re looking for easy to make projects for Easter, this post is for you.

In this project, we’re gonna be using the newest Easter collection here at Makers Gonna Learn. First, insert this cute little bunny butt into your Cricut Design Space. We are going to bring this up and resize it. We’re actually going to be cutting two of these so you need to duplicate it. We’re going to have to use two pieces of cardstock. We’re going to use a pink piece of cardstock for the body and then white cardstock for the little legs.

Eastercardholder

Next is we’re gonna get our little pieces – the pink bunny butt and the white tail and feet – sorted onto our mats and we will cut it. Once everything is cut, we will have two of the bunny bodies and then you have all the white parts cut from white cardstock.

You’re also gonna be needing some pink ink and we’re gonna use an ink blender or a makeup brush foam adhesive and glitter glue. If you don’t have glitter glue, you can use a regular glue and glitter.

Eastercardholder2

We are going to create a little circle and we’re going to fold it in the middle and add adhesive to both sides to create the joining of our cards. Now you can open them both, but it’s not  compromising the actual shape of your card. Now for the little white pieces, we’re going to leave pad of the bunny’s foot because this is in white cardstock. Using some of the pink cardstock and ink blender, I’m going to blend that outer edge of the toe. The reason why it’s gonna really soften the look of the bunny.

Eastercardholder3

Using foam adhesive, we’re going to place the foot pad onto the actual card. This foam adhesive is the stuff you use for photos or that you use to decorate your wall. It’s super strong and I really like using it on paper embellishments. So now, we’re going to move on to the second foot pad. Just remember to be sure to leave enough room for the little toe pads. We’re also going to do some of the pink feathering on the edge of the white bunny tail and this is gonna go right on his little bum.

Crystal Thompson March Projects 0017

Another really good idea is to put some clear glue on this bunny tail, cut up a cotton ball so it was really disintegrated, and then place it over the bunny tail. That would be super cute! We’re going place the tail on our bunny and then move onto the toe pads. Use the foam adhesive to glue the toe pads onto the card. I felt it was easier to put the foam adhesive directly onto the little circles, put them onto the card and then grab the ink blender and dab some color onto them. it’s super hard to work with these when they’re tiny little loose pieces.

Crystal Thompson March Projects 0029

For the inside of the card, we’re going to use flat adhesive and we’re going to do the same thing we did on the exterior. We’re not going to dab the pink coloring onto the foot though. This will help you make this a lot faster however when you open your gift card holder you still get that gorgeous bunny look.

Crystal Thompson March Projects 0030

I have my gift card ready and I’m gonna add some of that flat tape adhesive and stick the gift card in there. Look how cute it is! You can add some more embellishment to this too.

I am grabbing some clear glitter glue to add some sparkle to it. Again, if you don’t have this stuff get some clear glue and some glitter. Just do a dab – just one layer of it to give it a little embellishment. Isn’t this Easter bunny card just adorable? Hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial and learned something new today. Happy crafting!
