DIY CRICUT WEDDING SHOWER GIFT IDEA

April 14, 2019 by Paula W

Guys! I’m so excited to show you a super fun Cricut gift idea that you can make for any of your friends that are getting hitched! This is a simple project, but it looks so beautiful. We, of course, used our Cricut Maker and added some fun twists to this DIY Cricut home decor. I can’t wait to show you all how we made this DIY Cricut Wedding Shower Gift Idea, so be sure to keep reading! We used a font that was already in Cricut Design Space, and we found the rest of our supplies at our local craft store. This project turned out great!

DIY Cricut Wedding Shower Gift Idea

Supplies:

  • Cricut Maker
  • Black Cricut Vinyl
  • Cricut Transfer Paper
  • Cricut StandardGrip Mat
  • Cricut TrueControl Knife
  • Rubbing Alcohol
  • Miter Saw
  • Wood Slab
  • Scissors
  • Measuring Tape
  • Clear Plexiglass Square Piece

Steps:

DIY Cricut Wedding Shower Gift Idea

1. Start off by cutting your wood slab. Pick the spot you’d like to cut, and get to sawing! Be sure not to cut the wood all the way through. We even sliced ours at an angle so the Plexiglass piece will be displayed at an angle.

DIY Cricut Wedding Shower Gift Idea

2. All we did was open up Design Space and chose the font Watercolor Brush Script and we typed up the last name along with the established year in a separate text box. Once we measured our Plexiglass piece and sized them in design space, to make sure the text lines were even we selected both layers and chose “align center horizontally”. Then simply load your mat, select your material, and press that flashing Cricut button!

DIY Cricut Wedding Shower Gift Idea

3. Once cut, weed all the negative vinyl. A pro tip that we’ve found is to burnish all of your vinyl before you even weed.

DIY Cricut Wedding Shower Gift Idea

4. Measure, cut, and apply transfer paper to your weeded vinyl. Burnish again.

DIY Cricut Wedding Shower Gift Idea

5. Another pro tip you’ll want to do is always apply rubbing alcohol to any slick surface you’re applying vinyl on to. It will remove any dust, dirt, and oil from your fingers which will help the vinyl apply flawlessly.

DIY Cricut Wedding Shower Gift Idea

6. Once your alcohol is dry, remove the backing from your vinyl and carefully position your design where you’d like it to go. Try to get the positioning right the first time.

DIY Cricut Wedding Shower Gift Idea

7. Peel off your transfer paper to reveal your flawless vinyl.

8. Now all you have to do is secure your Plexiglass piece down into your cut wood piece to reveal your awesome personalized Cricut Wedding Shower Gift Idea.  What do you think about this project? I love the way it turned out and I can’t wait to make more of these for all of my sweet engaged friends in the future. If you want to step out of your box and get super creative with your Cricut Maker.

FUN AND EASY DIY WINDOW CLINGS WITH THE CRICUT BRIGHTPAD

April 14, 2019 by Paula W

Today I want to show you all a super fun tutorial that’s perfect for adults and kids alike! Everyone loves playing with Puffy Paint, but sometimes it can be hard to perfectly use puffy paint when you can’t see your outline. We have eliminated that worry with the Cricut BrightPad! With 5 brightness settings and plenty of durability, it’s perfect for all kinds of crafts and for kids! Keep reading to learn how we made Fun and Easy DIY Window Clings With The Cricut BrightPad.

Fun and Easy DIY Window Clings With The Cricut BrightPad

Supplies:

  • Cricut BrightPad
  • Multiple Colors of Puffy Paint
  • Masking Tape
  • Printed Cactus Designs
  • Scissors
  • Plastic Zip Bags

Steps:

1. The first thing you’ll want to do is cut your printed designs to fit in your plastic zip bags.

2. Now that you cut your cactuses, place them into your zip bags.

3. Before you get to painting, be sure to use some masking tape to secure your design onto your BrightPad. We love the 6-foot cord it has, and because it’s so long we could have our BrightPadplugged into our Cricut Maker that wasn’t even on the same table.

4. Once everything is secure turn your BrightPad on and get to painting! It’s so much easier to see the fine lines. We painted the outline black first. I love using the brightness settings to ensure I’m getting the light I need for the Craft I’m making.

5. Once we gave our outline a few minutes to set a little bit, we filled our cactus in with our chosen colors. I forgot how much fun puffy painting was. I love how the BrightPad makes this process so easy. Plus being able to keep my project secure is a big plus when working with things like puffy paint.

6. We made a second window cling using some different colors. I love how they turned out. With the BrightPads nonslip base, I don’t have to worry about ruining my project. It’s not going anywhere! Once you’re done painting carefully peel up the masking tape and lay your puffy paint designs in a safe place to dry preferably overnight. Once dry carefully peel your new window cling off the zip bag and enjoy!

Fun and Easy DIY Window Clings With The Cricut BrightPad

I loved making these window clings with our Cricut BrightPad. It made the process so easy. If you’re considering purchasing a BrightPad to add to your Cricut brand collection you won’t be disappointed. It has so much crafting potential and you will find new uses for it all the time. We love our Cricut BrightPad!
