Dollar Tree Organization Hacks

DIY Vinyl Organizer

A man in a brown hoodie with a black baseball cap on holds up two wire trays. One has rolls of pink and silver vinyl in it.

The first hack is a clever way to organize your vinyl while also using it as decor. Typically, you might use a small basket for mail near your entryway or on your desk, but here’s how you can repurpose it for vinyl storage. Simply grab a pair of snippers and cut out a section on each side so that a full roll of vinyl can fit through. Then, feed the vinyl through the opening, and you now have a stylish way to display your vinyl rolls on the wall.

To attach it, use a command hook or even the Dollar Tree knockoff version. For added support, use two hooks, especially if you’re storing multiple rolls. This is an easy and affordable way to upcycle storage baskets you may already have lying around.

DIY Glitter Organizer

Next up, we have a fantastic way to organize your glitter using a wire spice rack. Instead of storing your spices in a cabinet, repurpose the rack to hold your glitter collection. The step shelf design allows you to neatly line up your glitter containers, making it easy to see and access each color without rummaging through drawers.

A single rack can hold about 15 glitter containers for just $1.25, making it an extremely budget-friendly solution. You can even buy multiple racks to organize your entire collection, sorting them by color or brand.

Paper Storage

Another great idea is to use a napkin holder to store patterned paper. Attach the napkin holder to the wall, just like the vinyl organizer, and stack your paper packs inside. This provides both organization and a stylish display. You can rotate seasonal papers, like Christmas-themed ones, to match your current projects. Seeing your supplies out in the open helps you remember to use them instead of buying more craft materials you don’t need.

DIY Craft Storage

Divided storage cases are a game-changer when it comes to organizing craft supplies. If you’re just starting to get your craft stash under control, grab a few of these cases without worrying about what to put inside yet—they’ll come in handy. The Crafter’s Square craft storage box is perfect for beads, pearls, gems, and other small embellishments. It works like a tackle box, keeping everything neatly separated and easy to find.

For larger supplies, the rectangular clip-lock storage containers are a fantastic option. These are especially useful for keeping resin craft supplies together. Store your resin mixing cups, pump bottles, and silicone molds in one container so that everything is ready to go when you start a project. Resin crafting requires keeping all materials together, and this method ensures you can grab everything at once without searching for missing pieces.

A separate organizer for blades and accessories is essential for those working with Cricut or other electronic cutting machines. Dollar Tree offers small containers that are perfect for holding replacement blades, weeding tools, and other necessary items.

Unfinished Craft Projects Storage

If you have unfinished craft projects, this next hack is a must-try. Store all the supplies for each project in a single container so that everything is in one place when you’re ready to work on it again. This method is great for organizing ongoing projects like Christmas cards—simply keep all the materials together and switch between projects effortlessly. The best part? These containers are stackable, so you can neatly store multiple projects without creating clutter.

Another fantastic organization tip is to group supplies by craft type. For example, keep all adhesives in one container, heat guns in another, and molds in a separate bin. This way, when you need a specific type of supply, you can grab the corresponding container and have everything ready to go.

DIY Pegboard Storage

Pegboards are another fantastic way to organize craft tools, and Dollar Tree offers a budget-friendly version inspired by Ikea’s pegboards. If you want a professional-looking setup, start with a few Dollar Tree pegboards and gradually expand your collection. Use them to hang weeding tools, adhesive runners, burnishing tools, and other essentials. Just like a builder organizes their workshop with neatly displayed tools, you can create an organized craft space where everything is easy to access and put away.

Cleaning Glitter

If you love working with glitter but hate the mess, consider investing in a desktop vacuum. These mini vacuums are a lifesaver for keeping your craft space clean. They quickly pick up stray glitter, making it much easier to maintain a tidy workspace.

Glass Jar Storage

Glass jars are a stylish and practical way to store ribbons, craft tools, and other small supplies. Dollar Tree has a variety of glass jars that can be used to elevate your storage game. Fill them with colorful ribbon rolls or crafting utensils for an organized and aesthetically pleasing display.

Shoe Organizer for Large Craft Supplies

One of the best Dollar Tree organization hacks is using a hanging shoe organizer for craft storage. These organizers are perfect for storing Cricut mats, large craft items, cords, and even an Easy Press machine. If you have limited space, this is a great way to keep everything accessible while maintaining a clutter-free environment. Simply hang the organizer in a closet, and you’ll have an easy way to store and retrieve your crafting essentials.
