Download and Prepare Your Designs
Head over to Makers Gonna Learn and grab some cut files or sticker designs you love. For this tutorial, I chose some adorable St. Patrick’s Day and Easter files (hello, disco clovers and rainbow mushrooms! 🌈🍀).
- Download your chosen designs.
- Unzip the files if needed.
- Open Cricut Design Space and upload the PNGs.
- Place them into your canvas and begin resizing.
🎯 Use a Print Then Cut Guide (also available in the MGL membership!) to help organize your sticker layout. It ensures you use every inch of your sticker sheet—no wasted material here!
Print Your Stickers
Once your designs are uploaded and arranged:
- Click “Make It” in Design Space.
- Enable “Bleed” for full-color edges.
- Turn on “Use System Dialog” so you can adjust print settings.
- In the print dialog:
- Select the correct printer.
- Choose Rear Tray if applicable.
- Set Media Type to Photo Paper.
- Select the correct printer.
Set Print Quality to Best.
Apply the Laminate Sheet
Here’s where the magic happens—without a laminator!
- Remove the top strip from the laminate backing to reveal the sticky edge.
- Align the laminate starting at the bottom of your printed sticker sheet.
- Use a squeegee or scraper tool to slowly press the laminate onto the vinyl, working from bottom to top to avoid bubbles.
- Take your time—slow and steady wins the race!
Once laminated, give it a final burnish to make sure it’s fully adhered.
Cut Your Stickers with Cricut
Now that your sticker sheet is laminated and ready:
- Place it on a StandardGrip Mat in the top-left corner.
- Browse materials in Design Space and choose Printable Waterproof Sticker Set – White.
- Load your mat and start cutting.
Important: After cutting, check your cuts before unloading the mat. If needed, hit the cut button again to run a second pass. The laminate layer is thicker, so a double cut might give you a cleaner edge.
And there you have it—gorgeous, professional-quality waterproof stickers made right at home. Whether you’re creating seasonal designs, planner stickers, or decals to sell on Etsy, this method makes it easy and fun.
If you haven’t tried Cricut’s waterproof sticker sets yet, now’s a great time—especially if they’re on sale! Grab a few packs so you’re ready to create any time inspiration strikes.
