Everyone needs some new and improved fall decor. I love making my own holiday decor because I know what I make is one-of-a-kind! Not to mention how expensive home decor is at the store. You can make your own decor for every holiday and occasion. Today I will show you how to make a great piece of fall decor using three different cut files!

  • Cricut Maker or Other Die Cutting Machine
  • Scrap Vinyl
  • Transfer Tape
  • Weeding Tools
  • Measuring Tape
  • Mason Jars
  • Fall Colors of Acrylic Paint
  • Paint Brushes
  • Raffia
  • Vellum
  • ATG Gun

How to Make DIY Wooden Plaque

  1. Measure your jars and size your three files in design space to make sure they will fit well. We used the three files from the fall collection that say Nuts about fall”, “there is always something to be thankful for”, and “morning pumpkin". Contour out all of the words from the files so you just have the basic shapes.
  2. Cut the shapes with your die cutting machine, and weed off the excess when it’s finished being cut.
  3. Add transfer paper to the shapes and apply it to your jars. Peel it off to reveal your finished quote.
  4. Make sure the vinyl is well adhered to the jars, and paint several coats of paint all over the jars.
  5. Before the paint is finished drying, use a weeding tool and carefully remove all the vinyl letters.
  6. Now cut out squares of vellum and use your dry adhesive to attach them inside the jar over the shape.
  7. Finally, add some raffia to the top of the jars and add in your candles.
