Tried and True Crafting Techniques

Cheater Bow Method for Cards –
To create a bow on cards easily, use adhesive (like masking tape or an ATG gun) to stick the ribbon down, then tie a simple knot instead of attempting a perfect bow. This saves time and looks just as professional.

Inking Card Edges –
Enhance the look of paper crafts by inking the edges of your cards, which gives them a more finished and elevated feel. The Tim Holtz ink pads are recommended for best results.

Multi-layer Vinyl Cutting with Cricut –
For Cricut projects, use registration marks for multi-layer vinyl designs. Attach these marks to each layer before cutting to ensure proper alignment, making it easier to line up the design later.

Preserving Cricut Mats When Cutting with Felt –
To avoid ruining your Cricut mat when cutting felt, use transfer tape on the back of the felt. This protects the mat from the felt fuzz getting all over it and keeps it sticky enough to hold the material in place.

Custom Door Mats with Vinyl –
You can create custom door mats by cutting stencils from vinyl. Use heat to activate the adhesive and ensure crisp edges when painting with foam brushes.

Applying Vinyl to Round Surfaces –
For curved surfaces like mugs, use slits in your transfer tape to help the vinyl lay down without wrinkles. Burnish the vinyl down carefully for smooth application.

Weeding Intricate Vinyl Designs –
If you’re having trouble weeding intricate cuts, sprinkle a little baby powder on dark vinyl (or cocoa powder on light vinyl). This helps you see the design more clearly and weed it out easily.
These are all great tips, especially if you’re into Cricut projects or card-making! Which one of these hacks stood out to you the most?
