How To Make A Larger Than Mat Project With Your Cricut EasyPress 2
Hello everyone! You are going to absolutely love this home décor project using the EasyPress 2. I really love those “house rules” signs and have been wanting to make my own, with a customized DIY twist to it, of course! You know, sometimes picture frames can be incredibly expensive so we go looking for them at our local thrift shop. It’s easy enough to repaint the frame, and away you go to use it for a new project. We made our own Iron-On “house rules” canvas art using canvas fabric and the EasyPress 2! This frame is quite large though, so this is the perfect chance to show you How To Make A Larger Than Mat Project With Your Cricut EasyPress 2 too! With this tip, we can make our design as large as we want and not let the cutting mat sizes limit our options. Read on to see how we made this great DIY Cricut home decor!

Supplies:
- Large Thrifted Art With Frame
- Pink Spray Paint
- Cricut Maker
- Cricut EasyPress 2
- Canvas Fabric
- Scissors
- Black Cricut Iron-On
- Tape Measure
- Pliers
- Cricut Weeding Tool Set
- Stape Gun
How To Make It:
- Measure your canvas and adjust the file in design space. Here is the link to the exact project we used! Once you have it the correct size, let’s show you how to slice it up for two mats! I added a square from the shapes section and I made the square 12 inches by 19 inches because that’s as big as our roll of Iron-On. Then I placed the sized square over half of the image, selected both layers, and sliced them! Then I removed the access layers and changed the color of one of the halves so I knew easily which was which. Then I just loaded up my mat and cut as normal.

2. Now that you’ve got your image all sized, loaded, and ready to go, while your Cricut is cutting head outside and spray paint your frame! Now is also a good time to preheat your EasyPress 2! I love this EasyPress because it’s easy to learn and simple to use. It has a faster heat up time, and who doesn’t love the raspberry color?

3. Weed the designs carefully. Bring out your canvas fabric and once you’ve weeded the Iron-On It’s a good idea to align both sheets of Iron-On to the fabric to see what it will look like before adhering.

4. Once you’re satisfied, remove one half of the design and heat at 305 degrees for 30 seconds at a time until it is all well adhered. I love that the EasyPresses come in three different sizes perfect for all types of craft projects. The EasyPress 2 is a whopping 12 inches by 10 inches, and we adore every one of those inches. It has great even heat and you get professional quality Iron-On success in 60 seconds or less. With the new redesigned Safety Base you, your EasyPress, and your craft surface are safer than ever.

5. Peel up the design, align your second one, and reapply the transfer sheet onto the other adhered design before heating. Once finished, peel up your transfer sheets and marvel at your beautiful Iron-On work!

6. Stretch and staple your canvas fabric onto your painted frame, and now you have some gorgeous new home decor!

I love how this turned out? It adds s pop of color and so much personality to my space! If you’re on the fence about getting your new EasyPress 2, just see how effortlessly we created this project. It cut our adhering time in half! I love knowing I’m able to make larger projects with ease now that I have my Cricut Maker and my Easypress 2!
